GLEP42 is now basically implemented for Portage (in the glep42 branch). It should get merged after 2.1.2 is released next week and it will be available in 2.1.3. I am working on the news.eselect module for portage that will interface decently.

Other portage things include deprecation of the string module, random other fixups, me importing pkgcore’s cpv and atom classes, and brainstorming behind some sort of logger framework for messages. Also unittests, portage now has like 20 of them, hopefully with more to come as I continue writing functional tests.

Other Gentoo things include new treecleaner policy, a Proxy-Maintainers project that still needs work, bacula ebuilds, myself dropping gentoo-sources-2.4 for lack of time and knowhow (I know nothing about kernels, and apparently have negative knowledge about how maintain one). With regards to that, I’d like to thank dsd for giving me that opportunity (however skeptical he was at the time :)) and I’m sorry I didn’t get a chance to do much with it.
