I have completed the Harry Potter series of books. I went out three weeks ago and saw the 5th film, it was very good and I was interested in finishing the series without waiting for the rest of the movies so I went into Mountain View and bought the first five books. The store I shopped at was awesome. It’s like a mini library, stacks of books really crammed full. They also had old records, comics, CDs, old computer software (Lotus 1-2-3 anyone?) and it was all haphazard and just awesome. It reminded me very much of a friend from my childhood named Sara, who worked at the library and loved it there.

Anyway, I cruised through all five books pretty quickly. I bought the sixth book on Thursday and the seventh book my friend Matt gave to me on Friday. I finished book 6 Thursday night and book 7 Sunday morning. The series was good (sorry no spoilers here). Coming of age novels of course, make me compare myself to them which is both a good and bad thing :)

I also had my friend from college visiting and we tried to hang out for most of the week, but between him working remotely and me being busy at work it was pretty busy all week :/

I reorganized my bookshelves to fit in Harry Potter amongst the other volumes, I do have a lot of books (an entire shelf full, plus 2 boxes). I noticed I had 2 shelves devoted to Japan, Japanese Culture, and Japanese Language. I am slightly amused that my Japanese is so bad since I have all these material. Sometimes I wonder why I don’t put more of my time into learning it.

Finally I wonder if I am really ‘grown up’ or if that is a few years off yet ;)
